Shimonoseki, Yamaguchi
Shimonoseki is located at the southwestern tip of Honshu Island in Japan, on Kanmon Straits which separates it from the island of Kyushu and the city of Kitakyushu, Fukuoka. It is famous for being the site of the signing of the Treaty of Shimonoseki that sealed China's defeat in its recent war with Japan in 1895.
