Shigeki Saito (斎藤 茂樹)

Biographical Information[edit]

Shigeki Saito was an infielder who represented Japan in the 1978 Amateur World Series. He hit .433/.514/.467 with 11 runs and 3 RBI in 10 games, fielding 24 chances without a miscue at second base. Only Roberto Espino and Luis Casanova had better averages in the event. He played for JFE Steel in the Industrial League after college. He then coached Meiji University from 2002 to 2003.
