Seong-man Jeong pitched in the KBO for 5 years.
Jeong joined the Sammi Superstars when the KBO was founded in 1983, and he was 3-5 with a 2.92 ERA in that season. He pitched a 14-inning complete game on September 7 (beating the Samsung Lions, 5-1), and that was the longest complete game in KBO regular season history. He then went 8-10 with a 4.86 ERA in 1984, and he led the league with 20 homers allowed (tied with Hiroaki Fukushi). Jeong was 7-14 with a 5.00 ERA in 1985, and he was 2nd in losses (tied with Il-eon Choi). He had a 1-7 record with a 6.23 ERA in 1986, then he was traded with Koo-seon Jeong and Kyung-ha Woo to the Lotte Giants for Sang-moon Yang, Ho-kyun Lim, Gyeong-hwan Baek, Jin-woo Lee and Jin-geun Kim. Jeong had a 6.61 ERA in 4 games in 1987, then he announced his retirement.
Overall, Jeong was 19-38 with a 4.86 ERA, struck out 173 and pitched 448 1/3 innings in 5 seasons in the KBO.
