Biographical Information[edit]
Seong-gwan Kim played in the Korea Baseball Organization for 3 years.
Kim joined the Lotte Giants when the KBO was founded in 1982, and he hit .275/.336/.414 in 76 games in his first season. He also won one of the inaugural KBO Gold Gloves as an outfielder (alongside Seung-gwan Yang and Jun-hwan Kim), and he ranked 10th in doubles (8 behind In-chun Baek) and 9th in steals (16, tied with Koo-wang Jeong). He slumped to .216/.285/.317 in 1983, and he announced his retirement after having a 4-for-18 record in 1984.
Overall, Kim hit .249/.312/.367 with 124 hits and 8 homers in 3 seasons in the KBO.
