Biographical Information[edit]

Seiya Kinami has played in the Nippon Pro Baseball.

Kinami was drafted by the Hanshin Tigers in the third round of the 2018 NPB draft, and he hit .256/.296/.360 with 4 homers in his rookie year. He set the team record for having a 13-game hitting streak as a rookie, in September. Kinami only hit .249/.307/.354 in 2020, then he slumped to .227/.269/.319 in 2021. Therefore, he only had 40 appearances, with a .204/.253/.280 in 2022. Kinami finally broke out in 2023. His .356 batting average ranked 3rd in the middle of the season, and he was selected into the 2023 NPB All-Star Game. He was 0-for-2 in Game 1, then collected a hit against Kaima Taira in Game 2. He ended up hitting .267/.320/.333 with a league-leading 12 intentional walks, and won the Central League pennant with the Tigers. In the 2023 CLCS, he was 5-for-10, with a walk-off hit against Ryoji Kuribayashi, and won the series MVP.
