Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Sean Reynolds was drafted by the Miami Marlins as a position player in the 4th round of the 2016 amateur draft. He had been a two-way player in high school and only moved to the mound as a pro in 2021, after working out as a pitcher during the forced inactivity caused by the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020. In his four seasons as a first baseman from 2016 to 2019, he never hit for as much as .200 during a full year, even though he displayed a bit of power.

He moved to the San Diego Padres organization at the trade deadline in 2023, being traded from Miami along with 1B Garrett Cooper in return for P Ryan Weathers on August 1st. He made his major league debut with the Padres on July 14, 2024, in the team's final game before the All-Star break.
