Biographical Information[edit]
There have been over 50 major leaguers named Moore, but only one named Scrappy Moore. He was in college from 1911-17, coming to the majors in June of 1917 and staying for four games. Born in St. Louis, MO, he appeared for the 1917 St. Louis Browns. After being in the military in 1918, he came back to pro ball to play six seasons in the minors, three of which were for the Little Rock Travelers. Many years later, he died in Little Rock, AR.
Moore studied law at Georgia Tech and Vanderbilt before signing on to pro baseball. He served in the Navy in 1918.
The only other player remembered with the first name "Scrappy" has been Scrappy Carroll.
