Scouting report
As the name suggests a scouting report is a report written by a scout about an amateur player, a young player in the minor leagues, a current major league player whom the scout's team may be interested, or an entire team.
Scouts generally rate position players on the five tools: hitting for power, hitting for average, fielding, arm strength, and baserunning. Traditionally, these ratings are on a 20 to 80 scale, with 80 being the best possible rating - but also very rarely attributed.
