Biographical Information[edit]
1B/OF Scott Malone was drafted by the Texas Rangers in the 9th round of the 1992 amateur draft. He played in the Rangers' chain in 1992-1995 and for the independent Abilene Prairie Dogs in 1996. A first baseman/outfielder, he hit .265/.356/.378 in the minors.
Malone was an assistant coach at McMurry University in 1997-1998, Texas Christian University in 1999, University of Kentucky in 2000, University of Texas at San Antonio in 2001-2002, University of Texas at Arlington in 2003-2004, and University of Nevada, Las Vegas in 2005-2007. He became head coach at Texas A&M University-Corpus Christi in 2008.
