Biographical Information[edit]

Scott Grinder began his professional umpiring career in the Gulf Coast League in 1974. In 1975, he moved up to the Florida State League and in 1977 to the Southern League. In 1979, he reached the AAA ranks in the International League and stayed there until 1986. Starting in 1983, he began working National League games, replacing regular umpires who were sick or on vacation. He did that until 1986 working a total of 76 major league games. He retired to become a minister.
