Biographical Information[edit]

Scott Graham began umpiring in the Gulf Coast League in 1975. He moved to the Florida State League in 1976, then moved up to the Southern League in 1978. In May of 1979, he was promoted to the International League but his career ended after the 1981 season, but he then remained active by umpiring college baseball. He worked the 1996 College World Series, 2000 College World Series, 2004 College World Series and 2007 College World Series.

In 1991, he worked one National League game on Opening Day, April 8th, when the regular umpiring crew could not make it to Shea Stadium in time, after a labor conflict had been resolved in the final hours of spring training. He worked some more games in 1995, when the umpires went on strike at the start of the season. In 2004, he worked the start of a game between the Chicago Cubs and Philadelphia Phillies at Citizens Bank Park on July 23rd when three of the four scheduled umpires were late in arriving. He worked first base until the arrival of Joe West in the 2nd inning.
