Biographical Information[edit]

Saidel Beltran pitched for Villa Clara of the Cuban National Series before defecting with teammate Yuniesky Betancourt. In three seasons in Cuba, he pitched 58 games (52 starts). His record was 25-18 with one save and a 3.22 ERA. He struck out 214 and walked 112 in 299 1/3 IP while allowing a .257 average.

Beltran pitched briefly in the New York Yankees and Seattle Mariners farm systems and also pitched in the Canadian-American Association for the Sussex Skyhawks.
