Saul Jimenez
Saul Jimenez Camarena
- Throws Right
- Born March 8, 1968 in Santiago Ixcuintla, Nayarit Mexico
Saul Jimenez was the younger brother of German Jimenez and Isaac Jimenez. The only right-hander of the three, he had the shortest career as well. He was 6-0 with a 5.01 ERA and 32 walks in 46 2/3 innings as a rookie for the 1991 Mexico City Red Devils. He remained with the club in 1992 (4-1, 3 Sv, 3.98), 1993 (3-1, 3 Sv, 6.35) and 1994 (0-2, Sv, 5.97). Overall, he had a 13-4 record and seven saves in 78 games, but the record is deceptive as his ERA was a lofty 5.30. He walked 86 in 141 innings, showing the same control problems that plagued his brother Isaac. Saul was the last of the three Jimenez brothers to start his career (7 years after Isaac) yet the first to end it (7 years before German).
