Sanford Seminole Blues

Between being a New York Giants farm team in 1951 (the Sanford Giants) and a St. Louis Cardinals farm team in 1953 (the Sanford Cardinals) the Sanford, FL team in the Florida State League was independent in 1952 and known as the Sanford Seminole Blues. Under manager Chuck Aleno, the team finished fifth in the 8-team circuit with a 64-70 record. They drew 38,360 fans, second in the FSL that year. In addition to managing, Aleno was the offensive star. The third baseman hit .308/~.425/.520 with 92 walks, 101 runs, a league-leading 25 homers and a league-best 131 RBI. Jesus Corrales (13-12, 2.87) was the ace pitcher.
