Sandlot Seasons
Sandlot Seasons is a history of sports in black Pittsburgh, PA, focusing on the first half of the 20th Century. Written by Rob Ruck and originally published in 1987, it was one of the first history books to cover the Negro Leagues. While the Negro Leagues are not the sole focus of the book (which also covers sandlot and industrial teams), there is a lot of emphasis on Gus Greenlee and Cum Posey and their work in building the Pittsburgh Crawfords, Homestead Grays and Negro Leagues.
