Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Samuel Taveras played in the New York Mets minor league system from 2007-2010, reaching the New York-Penn League in his final season. Across his four minor league seasons, Taveras had a 13-7 record, 14 saves, and an ERA of 2.89. He was strictly a reliever during his career.
After several years away, Taveras resurfaced in the Mets organization in 2018 as a coach for the DSL Mets 2. He returned to this role in 2019 and was slated for a third season there in 2020 before the minor league season was shut down by COVID-19. Taveras did not appear with any of the DSL teams in 2021-2022. The Atlanta Braves hired him as a pitching coach for the DSL Braves in 2023-2024.
