Biographical Information[edit]

Samuel Benjamin has played in the independent leagues and been on the Chinese national team.

Benjamin was born in California and grew up in Dubai, playing for Little League teams there. [1] Returning to the US by high school, he hit .175/.224/.238 as a college freshman and .250/.280/.361 as a sophomore at Houston. Transferring to Houston Christian, he batted .354/.426/.634 with 48 RBI in 47 games in 2023 and .309/.389/.606 with 15 homers and 48 runs in 49 games as a senior.

Signing with the Lake Country DockHounds, he hit .200/.308/.364 with 14 runs in 15 games. The outfielder then was with China for the 2026 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers as his mother is Chinese. [2] Hitting cleanup and playing right in their opener against Germany, he was retired by Markus Solbach his first time up. He was 0-for-4 against both Germany and Colombia then sat out the finale.
