Biographical Information

Sang-Hoon "Samson" Lee was the first Korean to play in the Korea Baseball Organization and later pitch in the major leagues. He twice led the KBO in wins and was once Fireman of the Year. He also was 7-5 with a 3.30 ERA in two seasons with the Chunichi Dragons in Japan in 1998 and 1999. His nickname of Samson originated from the length of his hair.

In the majors at age 29, he had a 3.09 ERA with the Boston Red Sox in 2000, when the American League as a whole had an ERA of 4.91.

He played for the Pawtucket Red Sox in 2000 and 2001. After his playing time in the U.S. he went back to Korea to play. He pitched briefly in relief for the South Korean national team that won Gold in the 2002 Asian Games.

Several sources say he then became a singer and rock musician.
