Biographical Information[edit]

Infielder Sam Perry spent four years at the University of North Florida before playing a single season in independent baseball.

In 2008, his first year of college ball, he hit .204/.317/.315 with one home run and seven RBI in 35 games (54 at-bats). The following year, he hit .215/.297/.336 with three home runs, 13 RBI, 24 runs scored and 50 strikeouts in 50 games. He hit .258/.341/.387 with two home runs and 18 RBI in 55 games in 2010 and in 2011, he hit .233/.314/.474 with nine home runs, 29 RBI and 28 runs scored in 41 games.

He signed with the Sonoma County Grapes of the independent North American League for 2012 and hit .265/.365/.361 with no home runs, 20 RBI, 32 runs scored and 12 stolen bases in 44 games.

On July 21, 2013, he died at the age of 24.
