==Biographical Information Sam Mitchell played two seasons of minor league baseball before injuries ended his playing career. He hit .292 and slugged .362 as a catcher and outfielder for the 1953 Terre Haute Phillies and 1955 Yakima Bears.

He later was a longtime high school teacher and coach, and his wife was a New Jersey state representative.
