Biographical Information

Sam Bishop is the brother of catcher Beau Bishop and Faenza Bishop. In the 2013 World Baseball Classic Qualifiers, he formed a brother battery for the New Zealand national team. In his only outing, he did well against the host Taiwan national team, tossing a shutout 6th to end a 10-0 mercy rule loss. Relieving Wayde Bremner, he allowed a double to Chien-Ming Chang, then got Yi-Chuan Lin on a grounder. After a walk to Chih-Sheng Lin, the hefty righty retired Kuo-Hui Kao and Hung-Yu Lin to end the frame.
