Biographical Information[edit]
Sadao Omachi pitched in Nippon Pro Baseball and for the Japanese national team.
Omachi represented Japan in the 1979 Intercontinental Cup. The Hanshin Tigers signed him in 1979. He joined the Tigers' bullpen as a rookie, and recorded a 2.75 ERA in 37 appearances. He improved and had an elite 1.91 ERA with 7 wins and 8 saves in 50 appearances in 1981. The Yamaguchi native slumped to 5.13 ERA in 35 games in 1982. He bounced back a little as his ERA was 4.61 in 21 games in 1983, but he still announced his retirement after the 1983 season.
Overall, Omachi was 11-7 notched 12 saves with a 3.38 ERA and pitched 250 1/3 innings in 4 seasons in NPB.
