Biographical Information[edit]

Third baseman Rylan Bannon was drafted in the 8th round of the 2017 amateur draft by the Los Angeles Dodgers, out of Xavier University. The signing scout was Marty Lamb. He began his professional career that year with the Ogden Raptors of the Pioneer League, hitting .336 with 10 homers and 30 RBIs in 40 games. Following that excellent start, he slipped a couple of levels in 2018 to start the season with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes of the California League, where he hit .296 with 20 homers and 61 RBIs in 89 first-half games. he was named to the league's mid-season All-Star team. That solid performance did not go unnoticed by rival scouts either, as on July 18th he was one of five prospects acquired by the Baltimore Orioles in return for All-Star SS Manny Machado. He was immediately assigned to the Bowie BaySox of the AA Eastern League.
