Ryan Hill

Biography[edit]

Ryan Hill started in left field at Rutgers University and was drafted by the San Diego Padres in the 15th round of the 2007 amateur draft. Hill racked up a number of all-county selections in high school and his traveling team, the Bayside Yankees, won the 2002 Connie Mack World Series. He earned a reputation at Rutgers as a patient hitter with good power from the left side of the plate. Hill hit .315/.456/.573 as a freshman, .308/.417/.477 as a sophomore and .350/.467/.549 as a junior.

His younger brother, Dennis Hill is a pitcher at Rutgers.

Hill debuted professionally with the AZL Padres and is at .230/.365/.311 after 24 games.
