Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Ryan Basner was selected by the Atlanta Braves in the seventh round of the 2003 amateur draft and made his pro debut that summer with the Danville Braves, going 4-1 with a 1.83 ERA and 50 strikeouts in 19 appearances out of the pen. The next year with the Myrtle Beach Pelicans, he saved 8 games and struck out 63 in 38 outings. He spent most of 2005 with the Mississippi Braves, going 2-10 with a 5.34 ERA while splitting time between the bullpen and the rotation, before making two appearances for the Richmond Braves late in the season. During each of the next three seasons, he split his time between Mississippi and Richmond as well.
