Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Ryan Anderson was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the first round of the 1997 amateur draft after striking out 105 batters in 37 innings his senior year at Divine Child High School. In the 1996 World Junior Championship, Anderson had a 5.40 ERA for the USA, walking 4 batters in 3 1/3 IP but striking out five and allowing only one hit. In the 1999 Pan American Games, he pitched 7 innings without allowing an earned run and went 1-0 to help the US win a silver medal and qualify for the 2000 Olympics.
