Biographical Information[edit]
After allowing 2 hits in 6 1/3 innings of Game 6 of the 2002 World Series, Russ Ortiz was permitted to keep the game ball upon being yanked by San Francisco Giants manager Dusty Baker, who felt the game was in the bag with a 5-0 lead. The Anaheim Angels promptly rallied to win the game, 6-5, and the Series in 7 games, rendering Ortiz's keepsake worthless.
