Biographical Information[edit]
Russ Frazier played briefly in the New York-Penn League in 1957. He then became a legendary college coach.
Frazier was a grad assistant at University of North Carolina, then was head coach at Louisburg College for 40 years. He compiled a 1,034-390 record, taking the school to the NJCAA Baseball World Series in 1971, 1975, 1977, 1979, 1981, 1987, 1988, 1990, and 1992.
He was the assistant coach for the USA Team that won the 1974 Amateur World Series in St. Petersburg, Florida in 1974; assistant Coach of the USA South Team that won the gold medal in Houston, Texas in 1985; and head coach of the USA Junior Olympic Team that won the silver medal in Windsor, Canada in 1978.
Frazier was inducted into the North Carolina Sports Hall of Fame and the American Baseball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
