Russ Bove has been a longtime scout.

Bove was his college's co-captain and was once named St. John's top player. He began his scouting career in 1984 with MLB's scouting bureau. He was with the Milwaukee Brewers from 1993-2003, then was a special assignment scout for the 2004 Montréal Expos. He became the Scouting Director for the New York Mets in 2005 but only held the job for a year. He has signed Ian Desmond among others.
