Biographical Information[edit]
Ruperto "Rupe" Toppin was one of the early major leaguers out of Panama. He pitched in the majors for the Kansas City Athletics in 1962.
Rupe's minor league career stretched 10 seasons. While he was mostly a reliever, he had some seasons as a starter. He went 14-11 for the Sarasota Sun Sox in 1961 mostly as a starter and 13-4 for the Burlington Senators in 1966, again mostly as a starter.
