Biographical Information[edit]
Shortstop Ruben Castillo was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Seattle Mariners in 1996. In his six minor league seasons, all within the Mariners system, he hit .223/.267/.281. Interestingly, he hit more triples than home runs, 12 three-baggers to 8 long-balls. His fielding percentage as a shortstop was .937; he played two errorless games at third base in his first season.
