Biographical Information[edit]
Roy Joiner pitched three years for the Chicago Cubs and New York Giants and another 15 years in the minor leagues. He served in World War II and never returned to baseball.
He ranched near Vina, CA for 45 years. He died at age 83 from pneumonia and arteriosclerotic heart disease and was cremated and interred at Vina-Carter Cemetery in Vina. His great grandson, Steven Berens, currently resides in Roy's Vina home and has carried on the ranching tradition.
