Biographical Information[edit]

Pitcher Ross Peeples was drafted twice, in the 1998 amateur draft in the 42nd round by the Texas Rangers out of high school, and in the 1999 amateur draft in the 45th round by the New York Mets, as a draft-and-follow pick. After signing with the Mets, he played in their system from 2000 to 2003, never rising above Class A. His best season was 2001 when he went 9-3, 1.34 as a starting pitcher for the Brooklyn Cyclones of the New York-Penn League.

He then had a lengthy second career in the Independent Leagues, playing for the Lancaster Barnstormers of the Atlantic League for 10 seasons from 2005 to 2014, for two of these seasons as starter and the others as a reliever. He went a combined 31-24 with 4 saves and a 4.49 ERA in 374 games over that decade.

He became a manager with Lancaster in 2017.
