Roque Solano played for the Dominican national team. In the 1992 Olympics, he hit .188/.263/.200 with one run and one RBI in 7 games. Their main left fielder, he had 5 putouts, one assist and one error. He did better in the 1994 Baseball World Cup, batting .333/.517/.333 as their main DH (he had 3 putouts in left), with two runs and two RBI in seven games. He led the team in OBP (.124 ahead of Daniel Abreu) and walks (7). He tied for 4th in the event in walks, two behind Orestes Kindelan.
