Biographical Information

Pitcher Rony Garcia was signed by the New York Yankees in 2015 and made his pro debut in 2016. He had his best season in 2017, going 2-3, 2.50 in 13 starts between the Pulaski Yankees and Charleston AlleyCats. He reached the AA level with the Trenton Thunder in 2019, going 4-11 with a 4.44 ERA and 104 strikeouts in 20 starts.

Following the 2019 season, he was selected by the Detroit Tigers with the first pick in the 2019 Rule V Draft. He made the team out of training camp and his first appearance came on July 28th as a starter against the Kansas City Royals. He gave up 3 runs (2 earned) in 3 innings but was not involved in the decision.
