Biographical Information

Outfielder Roni Cabrera was signed by the Texas Rangers as an international amateur free agent on May 19, 2022. He began his professional career immediately with the DSL Rangers Blue where he hit .214 in 37 games. He repeated the level in 2023, but with the DSL Rangers Red. He was hitting .315 and slugging .611 after 16 games when he was included in a major league trade on June 30th that sent him to the Kansas City Royals. In the deal, the Royals sent hard-throwing reliever Aroldis Chapman to the Rangers in return for P Cole Ragans and Roni. He was immediately assigned to the DSL Royals Blue.
