Ronald Tiffer has played and managed in Nicaragua.

He debuted with the 1982 Industriales, hitting .183/.314/.183 in 48 games, stealing only two bases in ten tries. He did lead the league with ten times hit by pitch. In 1983, he improved his hitting to .277/.343/.329. In 1984, he hit .229/.285/.248 in 50 games for the Industriales and .222/.288/.264 in 24 games for Managua. With the '85 Industriales, he produced at a .241/.308/.276 clip and was hit by 10 pitches to lead the league. He moved to Boer in '86 and batted .275/.369/.323 followed by .264/.351/.337 in 1987 and .253/.299/.306 in 1988.

In 1989, he began a three-year stint of leading the league in HBP. He had a batting line of .231/.354/.329 and 15 HBP in 1989, .250/.354/.320 and 16 HBP in 1990 and .260/.371/.382 with 16 HBP in 1991; that year, he hit a career-high 5 home runs. For Boer in 1992, he hit .243/.388/.316 and .299/.376/.351 in 1993. He wound up as a player by batting .233/.347/.283. Overall, he had hit .251/.345/.314 with414 runs and 210 RBI in 831 games and was plunked 123 times.

While managing Boer in 2017, he was picked as bench coach for the Nicaraguan national team when they won Gold at the 2017 Central American Games.
