Biographical Information[edit]

Ron Martinez pitched one season in Organized Baseball; an injury cut short his chances of a second. Ron went 7-1 with two saves and a 0.89 ERA for the AAA Miami Amigos, who were managed by Davey Johnson, allowing 54 hits in 81 innings and leading the short-lived Inter-American League in ERA. After the season his contract was sold to the Philadelphia Phillies. He was assigned to the Reading Phillies AA team and placed on the Major League Roster. Shortly thereafter, Ron had a elbow injury and was never able to recover.
