Biographical Information[edit]
Pitcher Ron Kump played in the minor leagues in 1950 and from 1952 to 1956. He began his career as an 18-year-old in the St. Louis Cardinals system, remaining there through 1954. He then played in the Brooklyn Dodgers organization through the end of his career.
Notable seasons include 1950, when he was 11-5 with a 2.96 ERA in 27 games (16 starts) for the Lebanon Chix, 1952, when he was 9-9 with a 3.66 ERA in 30 games (18 starts) for the Allentown Cardinals and 1954, when he was 14-12 with an ERA in the twos for the Omaha Cardinals and Houston Buffaloes.
Overall, Kump was 48-37 in 148 games in his six-year career.
