Biographical Information[edit]

Ron Cook started his career as an outfielder in the New York Yankees chain in 1966 and 1967. Cook hit .186 in 1966 and his batting averages kept dropping in three stops in 1967. He was drafted by the Houston Astros after the 1967 season and became a pitcher for the Oklahoma City 89ers in 1968. Reaching the big leagues in 1970, Ron was 4-4 with a 3.72 ERA and two saves in his 41 game debut season, falling to 0-4, 4.91 in five games (four starts) in 1971, his finale.
