Biographical Information[edit]
The moon and stars aligned for Ron Bryant in 1973 when he was a 24-game winner, striking out 143 batters (while walking 115) with a 3.53 ERA in 270 innings with the San Francisco Giants. He may have had a finer 1972 season by the bay; although he was "only" 14-7, he had a 2.90 ERA and allowed only 176 hits in 214 innings.
Following these two years, he bottomed out at a 3-15, 5.63 mark in 41 games, 23 starts, but just 126 2/3 innings in 1974, making 10 final appearances with the St. Louis Cardinals in 1975.
