The El Rojos de Candelaria Béisbol Club won the Division Honor title in 2004, the first team from Tenerife to win that title. They won the European CupWinners Cup in 2004 and 2005, both times beating Dutch club Hoofddorp Pioniers in the final. They were soon surpassed by the Marlins Puerto Cruz, who won every championship from 2005-2009; by 2006, the Rojos finished last in the 12-team league.
