Biographical Information

Roger Grooms was a replacement umpire in the National League during the umpires' strike in 1979. He taught at Anderson High School from 1957-2006 (English, history, humanities, speech) and was a national teacher of the year in 1987. He was a theater, book, opera and film critic in print and on TV from 1968-2002.
