Biographical Information[edit]

Roger Bréard was a minor league infielder, the brother of the more talented Stan Bréard. Roger hit .277 for the independent Drummondville Cubs in 1948 and remained with them in 1949. When the Provincial League joined the minors in 1950, he batted .301/.390/.395 for the St. Hyacinthe Saints, scoring 79 runs and beating out his brother in several offensive departments. He also outfielded him slightly, .937 to .934, at SS, finishing second to Silvio Garcia in the Provincial League. In 1951, he hit .324/?/.438 with 30 doubles and 8 triples. He tied Mike Fandozzi for second in the league in triples, was 5th in doubles and made the top 10 in average. Leaving Canada for the only season, he was just 10 for 44 with two doubles for the 1952 Columbia Reds. He hit .220/.354/.232 in 25 games for the 1953 Trois-Rivières Yankees to end his career.
