The son of legendary Rogelio García, Rogelio García Jr. is a pitcher like his dad.
García was 3-3 in his brief career entering 2006-2007, when he went 2-4 with a 4.37 ERA as a reliever for Pinar del Río. In 2007-2008 Cuban National League, Rogelio's record was 3-3 with a 4.13 ERA and his first 3 career saves in 27 outings. He walked 19 in 56 2/3 innings, showing better control than his father, who had once held Cuba's all-time walk record. In the playoffs that year, Rogelio Jr. was 1-0 with a 7.59 ERA.
García fell to 1-2 with a save and a 6.39 ERA in 2008-2009, allowing 50 hits in 31 innings. He was 0-1 with a 6.30 ERA in 2009-2010, walking 16 in 20 innings.
