Biographical Information[edit]

Second baseman Roberto Flis played in the minor leagues from 1948 to 1953. He wasn't a slugger, peaking at 10 home runs in a season, but he could knock extra base hits, managing 10 triples in 1948, 1951 and 1952 and 16 in 1950. He peaked at 33 doubles, hitting 30 in another campaign, as well. He spent the majority of his career with the Galveston White Caps of the Gulf Coast League.

In his first season, he hit .287/.339/.380 with 10 triples, 20 steals and 106 runs scored for the Franklin Cubs. In 1949, he hit .289/.326/.356 with 13 steals in 145 games for the Sherman-Denison Twins and in 1950, he hit .295 with 33 doubles, 16 triples, 10 home runs and 182 hits in 134 games for Galveston. In 1951, he hit .274/.298/.388 with 30 doubles, 10 triples and 100 runs scored for the same club and in 1952, he hit .303/.342/.392 with 143 hits and 10 triples in 115 games for Galveston. His average fell to .250 in his final campaign.
