Biographical Information[edit]
Robert White played in the minor leagues from 1946 to 1950. He was 15-14 with a 3.65 ERA in 36 games for the Great Falls Electrics in 1948 and 14-12, 4.20 with 19 complete games in 34 games for the Newport News Dodgers in 1949.
Baseball Reference's entry for White might be incorrect. It lists him as playing in Texas in 1946, however his The Sporting News contract card has him starting in Ogden, UT that year. [1]In addition, the Texas individual has a separate contract card.[2] They could be the same person and TSN had two contract cards for the same individual or they mis-entered White's information. Likewise, Baseball Reference has a separate entry for the individual who began in Ogden -- the mystery deepens as that individual is listed as a shortstop, not a pitcher.
