Biographical Information[edit]

Robert Surplice was on the first Australian national team to appear in an Amateur World Series. In the 1978 Amateur World Series, he was Australia's least-used hurler (2 G, 6 2/3 IP). He allowed nine hits, five walks and eight runs (five earned) while striking out two. His 6.75 ERA was second-highest on the team; Warwick Dooland was higher.
