Biographical Information[edit]

Robert O'Connell hit .266/.423/.311 with 29 stolen bases in 109 games for the Janesville Cubs in 1941, his first professional campaign. It appears he didn't play in 1942, then he served in the U.S. military from 1943 to 1946, spelling the end of his career. He was business manager of Janesville in 1947-1948 and was interim manager briefly in 1948, replacing Frank Kristie and being replaced by Lou Bekeza. By 1951 he was a salesman for a Chicago Sporting Goods company [1].

His Baseball Reference page combines his numbers with another Robert O'Connell.
