Biographical Information[edit]
Robert Mazer was an industrialist, philanthropist and a longtime principal owner of the Chicago White Sox.
Mazer founded Mazer Chemicals, turning it into a 250-employee company before selling it to Pittsburgh Paint and Glass in 1985. He used the money earned from selling his company to buy a large ownership interest in the White Sox in 1988. He soon became the largest shareholder and held a permanent seat on the team's Board of Directors.
During World War II, he served in the Navy as an electrical technician.
